What is Embodied Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is a practice of non-judgmentally and compassionately observing your present moment experience while allowing it to be as it is. Embodied Mindfulness highlights the importance of the role the body plays in sensing the present moment.
Awareness of the body is central to Buddhist mindfulness but I believe that in this day and age the “embodied” aspect of mindfulness must be explicitly emphasized since many of us live “neck-up” and can easily forget what’s happening from the neck to the feet (and a lot is happening)!
In my work as an embodied mindfulness coach I include: traditional mindfulness, somatic experiencing, qi gong, yoga, breath practices, journaling techniques, and more…
What Can You Expect From Embodied Mindfulness Coaching?
1. To learn how to create space in your body+mind through the practices of: mindfulness, embodiment, energy psychology, journaling and more…
2. To get to know yourself, your body, your pain, and your stories intimately through the lens of self-compassion.
3. To learn how to creatively express these stories in a way that helps you to release them and re-write them.
4. To learn how to shift your relationship to yourself, your pain and the world around you and gain the ability to choose where you place your attention in any given moment.
5. To learn how to relax more deeply.
6. To discover how all of the above can help you in managing and potentially healing your pain.
